June 2, 2016 Mthly Mtg Special Hybrid and Special Specie Awards

The Naples Orchid Society’s monthly meeting was held June 2, 2016. The best hybrid and the best species orchid were given gold ribbons. The best hybrid award was given to Bro. sanguinea ‘Lisa Genovese’ AM/AOS owned by David Genovese. The best species award was given to Paph. Ho Chi Minh owned by RayJean Walker.

    Monthly Meeting

    Our program will feature our Scholarship Fund sponsored interns, under the direction of Dr. Lawrence Zettler, Professor of Biology and Director of the Orchid Recovery Program at Illinois College. Dr. Ernesto Mujica, of Cuba’s Ministry of Science, and leading Ghost Orchid expert, is also expected to attend.

    The Mini Culture Class with Bill Overton will be “Researching Orchid Pests & Diseases.” The class starts at 6 PM. All are welcome.
