If you are a member of NOS and have pictures of your favorite orchids that you would like to share with others, please follow these instructions when submitting your photos. These rules are designed to make it as easy as possible for you to submit your photos and for us to post them on the NOS Website.
E-mail: The preferred method for submitting your photographs would be digitally. If you have access to a scanner or are using a digital camera, e-mail your pictures to our Webmaster, David Genovese. If the link here does not work, David's direct e-mail address is dgenovese10@comcast.net. Please attach only one photograph per e-mail submission and be sure to include the complete name of the orchid in the body of your e-mail. Place "NOS Website Photo" or something similar in the subject line of your e-mail, and make sure that the file size is no more than 1 MB. Alternatively, you can put your images on disk, and give them to David at our monthly meeting.
US Mail: If you only have prints of your favorite orchids, you can mail them to David Genovese, whose address can be found in your Membership Directory. He will scan them and put them on the Internet under your name. Please don't forget to include the complete name of the orchids along with your pictures. You can also hand these to David at our monthly meeting.
If requested, any prints submitted by members will be returned to them at the monthly meeting once they have been scanned (usually by the next meeting).
In order to make them fit better on the page, sometimes we may need to crop a photo. Also, the grower's name and the name of the orchid will be superimposed over the edge of the image.
Please be very careful when writing down the name of your orchid. We will post it exactly as you have typed or printed it, since it is too time-consuming to check the name of every orchid for accuracy.
Currently, there is no limit on the number of photos submitted by each member, as long as it is within reason.
The photos will be posted in the order in which they are received by our Webmaster.
